5 Private Gardens Plus gardens at Glendower Historic Mansion, Pines Pet Cemetery, Miller Ecological Park & The Lebanon Train Station
Sponsored by the Lebanon Council of Garden Clubs, Inc.
The Historic Lebanon Garden Tour presents five private gardens and those of the Glendower Historic Mansion, Pines Pet Cemetery, Miller Ecological Park, Hidden Valley Orchards and The Lebanon Train Station. This year’s tour features CC’s Blooms Flower Farm that specializes in organic local sustainable flowers. Over 200 varieties of dahlias benefit from large swales on the property that catch water for irrigating the plants. The greenhouse has passive and active solar features as well as an underground climate battery. Another stop on the tour showcases over 500 hostas from the huge Empress Wu to the miniature Curly Fries. Walk in the family orchard of over 230 blueberry bushes. Explore the gardens in and around a ravine on one family’s yard and see river rock beds, terraced vegetable gardens plus butterfly and pollinator cutting garden. An early 1800’s family farm house provides the backdrop for garden like your grandmother’s cottage garden. The brick Federal-style house and garden was featured in Better Homes and Garden’s Country Gardens magazine in 2003.
New this year: All guests may participate in a scavenger hunt each day at the tour. Prizes will be awarded each day.
