Hiking is a beloved tradition in Germany, and we have marked 5K and 10K trails throughout our scenic grounds in Colerain Township, Ohio. REGISTRATION ENDS AT NOON but walkers may continue at a leisurely pace until 4 p.m. if desired--and you also can stay for our final Biergarten Experience of the year, which runs 5-10 p.m. (See separate EVENT listing on this page for details.) Volksmarchers will enjoy meeting new people and sampling some German-inspired food, imported German bier and pastries. This event is registered with the American Volkssport Association, and hikers earn credits for participating. Cost to register is $3; hat pins are $5. CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS ONLY, PLEASE. Pets on leashes are permitted at this event AND at our Biergarten Experience afterward.\ ADDITIONAL INFO: The Döner (a Turkish kebab that is popular in Germany) debuts at Germania Society during this Volksmarch. Our kitchen will be ready with pastries, coffee and brats/metts first thing in the morning but the kebabs will not be available until 11 a.m. Kitchen closes at 2:30, but will reopen for our Biergarten Experience, which starts at 5 p.m. We are hoping to be able to offer the Döner during the Biergarten Experience if supplies last.
