Big Bands are back at Music Hall Ballroom with this big band concert and dance to benefit WMKV/WLHS Public Radio. We feature the touring Glenn Miller Orchestra in the room that hosted the great bands of the 40s and 50s. Help us usher in new memories at the re-opened Music Hall Ballroom with classic big band music back in a classic venue!
The legendary Glenn Miller was one of the most successful of all the dance bandleaders back in the Swing era of the 1930s and '40s. A matchless string of hit records, the constant impact of radio broadcasts, and the drawing power at theaters, hotels and dance pavilions built and sustained the momentum of popularity. Due to the popular demand, the Miller Estate authorized the formation of the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956. The band continues to perform all of the many hit songs such as 'Moonlight Serenade', 'Sunrise Serenade', 'In The Mood', 'My Reverie', 'Little Brown Jug', 'Nearness of You', 'I've Got A Gal In Kalamazoo' and 'Indian Summer'.
